The United States of America is undoubtedly a heaven for the gamblers. The Las Vegas, also known as the “sin city” is one the hottest destination for the casino addicts. Tourists from all around the world flock in to this little desert city, to try out their luck.

A glance at the American gambling history reveals that this game has been entertaining the Americans for centuries. In fact, a ban on the lotteries was one of the reasons behind the American Revolution!! After the Second World War, America realized gambling as a potential source of income. Gradually, the government legalized gambling in several cities such Detroit, New Jersey, Lousiana, Michigan, Illinois, Vegas and many more. However, many states still have reservation towards gaming and casinos.

The government wisely spends these revenues on charitable issues such as education, medical aid etc. These casino centres is also the working place for more than three million people. Critics on the other hand argue that gambling in America should be banned as it sprouts illegal activities. Survey report shows that Vegas have become a den for the criminals. Crime rate has increased in areas where there are buzzing gambling activities. In response to these several laws have been enacted for the past few decades in order to curb the alarming growth rate of crime throughout the country.

Even though gambling has become extremely popular in European countries, Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia – America has managed to retain its charm and attraction when it comes to gambling. Despite several setbacks, it still wears the crown of the reigning queen of the gambling industry.
